Australian Supermarket Beef is mostly feedlot beef. Feedlot beef is an intensive way to grow beef that is increasingly under fire in some countries.
One explanation for feedlot is price, its the only way to bring mass affordable food to market. But Australian supermarket meet is not cheap, so if it is cheap to buy for the supermarkets it seems like they are making more money that they should here. I read that 75% of Australian beef is feedlot.
