Not a great play.  Entertaining and thought provoking and nicely connected to the book.

ARCADIA by Tom Stoppard

I want to see this again.  As usual for Stoppard, clever and funny.  A great play and well performed by the Black Swan people.

• Very nicely performed and run, a little long
7. Virgie - Renee Newman - Blue room
• Historical action - the life and times of a real early women on the gold fields
8. Ali McGregor's Jazz Cigarette: The Spiegeltent,
• Beautifully accomplished singer and communicator
9. FRISKY & MANNISH'S POP CENTRELINK The Spiegeltent,
• High energy show -great concept and well put together

• Story of 2 people that plan and go missing, well told

Week of Nov 20

Slow week:

1. Ikea for some new lights, spatula and towel.  As usual spent money crap....  New Floor light works really well.
2. Sunday Birthday party for Chelsea at Blythes.
3. Boom clash Opera on Thursday -fantastic show  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boom_Crash_Opera (Steve, Simon Jennifer and others, rained a little)
4. Deck building on Saturday and Friday afternoon
5. Searched for decking supplier
6. Tried out new electricity meter - freezer is surprisingly good, radio surprisingly bad - still monitoring overall use - very interesting. 
7. Bike ride and work, continued decking and the film "the debt" with Helen Mirran ( not sure What I think about it, was not in the mood I think)

We need a different kind of organisation to create organisations that are for the public good
they would be:

• easy to form, easy to dismantle, perhaps has a defined end
• something that is as monumental as limited liability
• like the Olympic organizing groups

How does innovation finance work?  There is a gap in the process.

• Large capital providers are conservative and need proven solutions (large capital providers underestimate the risks in proven products and overestimate the risks in new technology)
• Pure research funds are available for initial research
• VC's only partly fill the gaps
• Can the super fund industry help? Banks don't help

A wonderful play

Remembering:
The use of multi generations on the stage at once
The repetitious us of words.
The store is woven truly through the scenes of the play.
the use of the fish is very powerful
The humour, little moments of relief
